Pennsylvania Association of Certified Nurse-Midwives

The Pennsylvania Association of Certified Nurse-Midwives (PA-ACNM), is a state affiliate of the American College of Nurse-Midwives (ACNM).

PA-ACNM is the organization that speaks for Certified Midwives (CM) and Certified Nurse-Midwives (CNM) in Pennsylvania.

Midwives are an integral part of women’s health in the Commonwealth, working in community and academic hospitals, private offices, community clinics, and home health settings.

PA-ACNM speaks on behalf of midwifery to legislators, regulators, insurers, the public, and to other professionals about issues that are unique to midwives practicing in Pennsylvania.

Our mission is to facilitate the growth of the profession of midwifery, to promote the health and well-being of childbearing families and their newborns, and women throughout their life span.
